Music in the Park is held at the Railroad Park pavilion every Friday night. Music goes from 7 PM to 9 PM. Food and drinks are available from local vendors.
May 22, 2009 Local singing group The Swinging Prevaricators will be playing eighties style music. The Water Valley Lions Club will be selling hamburgers and drinks.
May 29, 2009 The Jerry Hainey Band will be performing all acoustical gospel and bluegrass music. O'Tuckalofa Baptist Church will be selling home made ice cream and First Christian Church will sell hot dogs, polish sausages, etc.

Watermelon Carnival
The annual event will kick off on Thursday, July 30, 2009, with the Musicfest at the Civic auditorium. The Street Dance will be held on Central Street at 8:00 PM on Friday, July 31, 2009. Vendors will be open at 8:00 am Friday morning. The festivities will continue on Saturday, August 1, 2009. The 3 mile run/walk will be held at 8:00 am on Saturday. Throughout the day Saturday will be the judging for biggest watermelons, watermelon eating contests, the watermelon seed spitting contests, and watermelon toss contests. The 14th annual car display will be all day Saturday at Shuffield Park in the downtown area. The shuttle will run from the City Park to Downtown from 9:00 am to 5:00 PM Saturday only.
The Chamber only handles the food vendors.
