Music in the Park is held at the Railroad Park pavilion the first Friday night of the month May through October except August. Music goes from 7 PM to 9 PM. Food and drinks are available from local vendors.
Watermelon Carnival
The annual event will kick off on Thursday, August 4, 2011, with the Musicfest at the Civic auditorium. The Street Dance will be held on Central Street at 8:00 PM on Friday, August 5, 2011. Vendors will be open at 8:00 am Friday morning. The festivities will continue on Saturday, August 6, 2011. The 3 mile run/walk will be held at 8:00 am on Saturday. Throughout the day Saturday will be the judging for biggest watermelons, watermelon eating contests, the watermelon seed spitting contests, and watermelon toss contests. The 16th annual car display will be all day Saturday at Shuffield Park in the downtown area. The shuttle will run from the City Park to Downtown from 9:00 am to 5:00 PM Saturday only.
